Quick & Easy Chunky Slouchy Beanie

Materials:

 

Weight 5 Bulky Yarn

L / 8.0mm Hook

Scissors

Yarn Needle

 

Size: Average Adult - Unisex

 

Measurements: 11.5” Tall – 8.5” Wide (Aprox.)

 

Gauge: 6 rows of 10 Double Crochet = 4 Inches

Stitches & Abbreviations:

 

Chain (CH) - Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop

 

Slip Stitch (SS) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

 

Double Crochet (DC) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

 

Single Crochet (SC) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

 

Back Loop Only (BLO)

 

Notes:

• This beanie is made from the top down.
• The CH 2 and CH 1 DOES NOT count as a stitch.

Pattern:

 

CH 4, SS into 4^th chain from the hook to form a circle

Round 1: CH 2, 8 DC into the circle, SS into top of 1^st DC (8)

Round 2: CH 2, 2 DC in each ST around, SS into top of 1^st DC (16)

Round 3: CH 2, *2 DC in same ST, 1 DC in next ST, rep from * around, SS into top of 1^st DC (24)

Round 4: CH 2, *2 DC in same ST, 1 DC in next two STs, rep from * around, SS into top of 1^st DC (32)

Round 5: CH 2, *2 DC in same ST, 1 DC in next three STs, rep from * around, SS into top of 1^st DC (40)

Round 6-17 (or to desired slouch): Ch 2, 1 DC in each ST around, SS into top of 1^st DC (40)

Round 18-20: Ch 1, 1 SC BLO in each ST around, SS into top of 1^st SC (40)

Round 21: CH 1, 1 SC in each ST around, SS into top of 1^st SC (40)

Tie off
