Textured Wrist Warmers - Fingerless Gloves

Project Skill Level: Beginner

This pattern uses US and [UK] Terms

Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn

5mm Hook

Tape Measure

Scissors

Yarn Needle


Sizes: 

Small = 7 inches / 18 cm

Medium = 7.5 inches / 19 cm

Large = 8 inches / 21 cm

Small (Medium, Large)

Stitches & Abbreviations:

  • Chain (CH) - Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.
  • Single Crochet (SC) [Double Crochet (DC)] – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Half Double Crochet (HDC) [Half Treble Crochet (HTR)] – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.
  • Double Crochet, Back Bump (DC BB) [Treble Crochet, Back Bump (TR BB)] – Yarn over. Insert hook into back bump of stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Double Crochet (DC) [Treble Crochet (TR)] – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Front Post Double Crochet (FP DC) [Front Post Single Crochet FP SC)] - Yarn over. Insert your hook from front to back and then from back to front going around the DC from the previous round. The hook should now be positioned horizontally behind the double crochet that you are working around. Yarn over and draw the yarn around the post of the stitch. You now have 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Back Post Double Crochet (BP DC) [Back Post Single Crochet BP SC)] - Yarn over. Insert your hook from back to front and then from front to back going around the DC from the previous round. The hook should now be positioned horizontally in front of the double crochet that you are working around. Yarn over and draw the yarn behind the post of the stitch. You now have 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
  • Stitch(es) – ST(s)

Notes:  

  • CHs do not count as STs, so make the first ST of each round in the CH space.
  • Each round ends by joining with a SS into the 1st ST of the round.
  • ST count for each round should equal your starting CH count.

Pattern (Make Two):

CH 24 (26, 28), join with SS in the first CH to form a circle.

Round 1: CH 2 DC BB [TR] BB in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first DC [TR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 2: CH 2, *FPDC [FPTR] in the same ST, BPDC [BPTR] in the next ST, repeat from * around, join with a SS into the first FPDC [FPTR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 3: Repeat Round 2

Round 4: CH 1, SC [DC] in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first SC [DC] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 5: CH 1, HDC [HTR] in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first HDC [HTR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 6: CH 2, DC [TR] in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first DC [TR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 7: CH 1, SC [DC] in the same ST and in each  ST around, join with a SS into the first SC [DC] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 8: CH 1, SC [DC] in the same ST and in each  ST around, join with a SS into the first SC [DC] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 9: CH 2, DC [TR] in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first DC [TR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 10: CH 1, HDC [HTR] in the same ST and in each ST around, join with a SS into the first HDC [HTR] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Round 11: CH 1, SC [DC] in the same ST and in each  ST around, join with a SS into the first SC [DC] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Repeat rounds 4-8 (to total 16 Rounds).

Round 17: CH 1, HDC [HTR] in the same ST and the next 20 (22, 23) STs, CH 4 (4, 5) (this creates the thumb hole), join with SS into the first HDC [HTR] of the round. 24 (26, 28) including chains.

Repeat Rounds 9-11 (to total 20 Rounds)

Last Round: CH 1, SC [DC] in the same ST and in each  ST around, join with a SS into the first SC [DC] of the round. 24 (26, 28)

Tie off.

Weave ends.
