Crochet Face Mask

Project Skill Level: Easy – Beginner Level

Sizes Included: Adult – One Size Fits Most

Finished Measurements: 8” Wide / 4.5” Tall (Aprox.)

Single Crochet
Half Double Crochet
Double Crochet

Pattern Abbreviations:

SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
BLO - Back Loop Only
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
WS – Wrong Side
RS - Right Side

Materials

● Acrylic Yarn or 100% Cotton DK Yarn
● 5mm Hook
● Yarn/Tapestry needle

Gauge

Not important.

Notes:
Starting SC and DC do not count as a stitch.


Pattern


Mask:

CH 31

Row 1: SC into 2nd CH from hook and next five chains, HDC 18 times, SC 6 times, CH 1, turn (30)

Row 2-14: 6 SC BLO, 18 HDC BLO, 6 SC BLO, CH 1,turn (30)

(Decrease the number of rows to make a kid’s size or increase the number of rows to make an adult male size).

Row 15: SC across row, SL into last stitch, CH 25 (for ear loop) (30)

  • SS to connect strap on opposite side of mask
  • CH 1, SC across row, SS into last stitch
  • CH 25 (for 2nd ear loop)
  • SS to connect strap on opposite side of mask

Tie off

Weave Ends

Then ...

With RS facing you, pinch the middle of the right edge of the mask, fold down and use the yarn needle to sew it down. Tie off. Repeat on the left side. Tie off.

Weave Ends


Filter Pocket:


With the WS facing you, reattach the yarn just under the 7th stitch from the right, CH 1

Row 1: SC in same stitch and across the row, CH 2, turn (18)

Row 2-7: DC across, CH 2, turn (18)

(Or number of rows it takes to reach the bottom on the mask.)

Join the top and bottom of the filter pocket to the mask with a SS (Note: instead of a SS through both loops of the stitch, SS through the inside loops for an even join.)

Tie off
Weave ends
