Festival Tube Top

Project skill level: Beginner

This pattern uses US and [UK] Terms.

The hubs and I have booked our first Summer Festival of the year which inspired me to design this Festival Tube Top! Made with lightweight, DK yarn, it is light enough to wear during the day, and will easily transition into the night-time festivities!

For this quick & easy project I used four colours representing the colours of Africa, and I made another one using just one bold colour to show you another option! I think both look fabulous. You can modify your colour choices to your own taste!

I used approximately 98 grams of yarn, which is around 321 yards [294 meters].

If you haven't done so already, please join my Facebook Group and share pics of your Festival Tube Top there.

  • Each round/row ends by joining with a SS into the 1st ST of the round.
  • ST count for each round/row should equal your starting CH count.
  • This pattern is worked from the bottom up.

Using 4mm Hook

Colour 1 (or any of the other colours)

CH 150

Tie off.

The drawstring should be added to the third row from the top which is the second alternating FP/BP DC [FP/BP TR] round. Find the centre of that row making sure the seam is running down the side. Place a ST marker to mark the centre ST. Using a yarn needle add the drawstring by weaving it through each FP DC [FB TR] ST of the row, starting with the ST to the left of the ST marker and going all the way around until you reach the ST to the right of the ST marker.

Add toggles to both ends of the drawstring.

Knot the ends and cut the remaining tails.

Congratulations … you are done!
